For this series, I explored drawing as a practice by going on the Tracey Drawing and Visualisation Research website and picking out an area to focus on and a question to research. I focused on the Syntax of Mark and Gesture to answer the question, “How do marks work to evoke emotional states?”. I created a series of five drawings depicting different emotional states to answer the question. The four emotions that chosen are anxiety, anger, excitement, and happiness.

Three of the pieces were made with oil paint sticks on paper; meanwhile, the other was made using markers on paper.
